About me

My name is Ank Daamen. I began my professional life in the arts, driven by a longing to express the multidimensional experience that life brings. Intuitive and feeling deeply, I have always experienced the hidden and timeless layers of existence as tangible and profoundly present. I felt a strong need to learn more about this, to dive deeper, and to find tools to work with it. About ten years ago, I chose to immerse myself in bodywork and energetic practices. I trained in different methods while at the same time undergoing my own transformation. I love working with the body as a starting point, the concreteness of the body and the magic of touch.

Over the years, different teachers and companions have guided me in developing and appreciating my sensitive and intuitive gifts. They have shaped me into the person and practitioner I am today. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has stood by me, and especially to Ilan Lev and his method, which gave me wings and opened access to deeper layers that had once been unreachable. It allowed me to heal and restore in ways that had previously felt impossible.

​​A key principle in my treatments is that I cannot heal anyone. I see a treatment rather as an opportunity to give space to what wants to be felt, and to bring awareness to what longs for space. In curiosity and in not-knowing lies a deep receptivity for healing and restoration. My dear friend and colleague Sahara Morimoto expresses this beautifully, and I wholeheartedly resonate with her words:

​"My approach is simple yet deep: I don’t assess or assume – I listen, move, and together, we uncover something greater than either of us could imagine. Transformation unfolds in surrender to the unknown."

The body’s capacity for healing is immense, what we call self-healing ability is of course life itself! our very nature. Even though we live in a society that often holds skepticism toward the body [and the soul for that matter] shaped by a history of dominant mechanistic materialistic thought; I have always felt that the path forward is to connect with ourselves, with each other and with the natural world. To try and keep opening our hearts, to honor diversity as the ground of unity. This period of time calls for celebrations of our humanity.

At the moment, my partner and I are building a practice space in our garden in Amsterdam North. Once it is ready, I warmly invite you for sessions there. Until then, sessions are possible by arrangement in my living room.​
